“THE FATAL WEDDING.”

This musical drama held the boards at His Majesty’s all last week, and really splendid business was done. Despite a weak plot and many glaring errors of construction, there can be no doubt the piece has been a splendid money-maker for the management, and Auckland has proved no exception to the general rule, for every night the theatre was crowded. The reasonof this popularity is somewhat difficult to trace, but possibly it

is due to the child element so freely introduced. We have seen nothing better in its line than the character of the “ Little Mother” so ably portrayed by little Maisie Posner. The “ tin can” band of children also appeared to greatly please the audience, and this body of juveniles were largely responsible for the success achieved. The company left for the South on Sunday last.
