The British Empire Trading Company, Limited, forward a handsome souvenir of the New Zealand football team in the form of a show card, giving the solution of their “Old Judge” conundrum, which has been running in the Press throughout the colony. The card is most, attractively got up, and contains the. portraits of the team on a cluster of footballs. Gallaher, the captain of the team is depicted sitting on a large ball on one side of the card, and holds the smaller footballs by a bunch of red ribbons. The souvenir is entitled ‘The Old Judge’s welcome to our boys,” and underneath this is the answer to the conundrum, “Their goodwins seldom equalled, never excelled. ” Under the figure of Ihe old judge is given the team’s record, and at the foot of the card the significant admonition “Kick for Old Judge.” Printed in red and green, with a picture of the old favourite cigarette packet under the title, it will be sought after and prized by the many thousands of “Old Judge” patrons in New Zealand. The card is cleverly deigned, and has been neatly turned out bv the “New Zealand Times” Company, of Wellington.
