ROTORUA JOCKEY CLUB’S MEETING.

FIRST DAY. The Rotorua Jockey Club’s meeting was held on Wednesday, and was a very pronounced success. There was glorious weather, and the attendance was large. The fields were poor, no event having more than five starters. Results:— FIRST HURDLE RACE.—Sophia 1. Lady Clare ran second, but failed to draw the correct weight, and the Frenchman -ran third, but did not weigh in. Won easily. Time, 3min 26sec. There were 23 tickets on the winner. Dividend, £4 17s. ELECTRIC HANDICAP.—Omati 1, Ben Blair 2, Lunetta 3. Won easily. Time, lmin 2 3-ssec. Dividend, 18s. There were 104 tickets on the winner. ROTORUA CUP.—Kola Nip 1, Perform 2, Seatonia 3. Kola Nip Led all the way. Dividend, 19 s.

The second day of the Rotorua Jockey Club’s meeting was held on Thursday. The weather was cloudy, but fine. The attendance was not as large as on the previous day. The results were as follows:— HANDICAP HURDLE RACE.—Seatonia 1, Sophia 2. Seatonia led all the way. STEWARDS’ HANDICAP.—Bacchus 1, Stepney ? :2.. These were the only starters. Stepney led for three-quar-ters of the course, after which Bacchus led and won easily. ARAWA PARK HANDICAP.—Luorece 1, Kola Nip 2. Time, lmin 18 2-ssec. Dividend, £3 7s. There were 28 tickets pn the winner. BAY OF PLENTY HANDICAP — Kruger* 1, Radium 2. Time, lmin 53 4-ssec. Dividend, 18s. There were 128 tickets on the winner.

SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB’S MEETING.

The South Auckland races were held on Saturday, and there was a record attendance. The weather was fine, and there was a good field in every race. The results were as follows:—

TRIAL HANDICAP.—Waipa 1, Tommy Dodd 2, Haeremai 3. All started. Waipa won easily after bolting once round the course. Time, lmin 32 l-ssec. Dividends, £3 4s and 16s.
