SATURDAY. Miss Lottie, after cantering- once round the course proper alone, broke away for a circle at top, assisted by l.ycia and Delania over the last mile, which took 2min 2sec, the big mare finishing in a slovenly manner. Sir Hector and Desdemona finished together in a five furlongs spurt on the course in lmin 9sec.

Hakaria did a coupie of circuits on the tan at three-quarter pace. Inniskillen was given medium pace work on the course

proper. The resurrected Landlock, looking well, spurted three furlongs at top in 41sec on the course proper. Idas was only given half-pace work.

Putty and Gladstone broke away from the old mile post on toe course proder, and finished up the distance in the good time of lmin 49sec outside the trestles; the former led throughout.

Golden Sands alone, with V. Cotton in the saddle, although tiring( over the last furlong, left seven furlongs behind’ in lmin 39sec.

Kola Nip spurted four furlongs in 55 sec,; the gelding looks poor. Hurihuri left the five furlongs behind in lmin lOsec.

Lovelink, Simple Simon, and. another galloped down the six furlongs in lmin 23 l-ssec; the former left plenty of daylight between his companions and himself.

After breakfast some jumping was indulged in. Doobtful and Te Papa were associated together for a round over the schooling hurdles. St. Harp, who seems on the imprope, settled Yolctte over the course.

Jean and Major acquitted themselves well for the same work.

Cuiragno and Kereru jumped the same obstacles in good style, while Great Scott, who blundered at the second jump and came down, let his rider off without a scratch.

Austerlitz slipped over six furlongs in the good time of lmin 22 3-ssec. Putty mox'ed nicely over the six furlongs course in lmin 25sec, but could hax'e put up better time. Golden Sands ran seven furlongs at her best pace in a tick under lmin 40sec. Lovelink and another had the credit of lmin 10-lsec for a five furlongs flutter; the former led throughout. Dr. Quest and Simple Simon xvorked together on the same track. Sir Hector, Lannlock, Dingo, Jean, Major, St. Harp, Terrence, XVhakahihi, Fieramosca (late Hector), Avalanche, and St. Cyril also did strong xvork. After breakfast Jewellery ran one mile on the course proper in lmin 52sec alone, Girton Girl spurted four furlongs, and XVoodmount did a like task.

Inspiration negotiated the four furlongs in 54 3-sseC.

Sir Gilead, Calle Iris, and Air Gun finished in the order named in lmin 40sec for seven furlongs. Romeo ran round the course proper in lmin lOsec.

Orange and Blue spurted pleasingly for five furlongs. Nervine got to the end of six furlongs in lmin 25sec. Bukekhoe, Te Papa Coronation, Nexvtoxvn. and Storyteller also xvorked. On track form the following should run xvell at Takapuna:— Empire Handicap: Putty, Gladstone. Royal Handicap: Te Aroha, Alba Rose. Pony Handicap: Inspiration, Sally Horner. Maiden Hurdles: Hector, Le Beau.
