TURF RESULTS
WAIKATO HUNT CLUB’S MEETING. Excellent weather prevailed for the Waikato Hunt Club’s annual race meeting. There was a good attendance of the public, good fields, and capital racing. The following are the results of the racing:— Hunt Club Hurdles. —Mr E. J. B. Smith’s Swimmer’ Walsh, 1; Mr C. Shaw’s Reckless, owner, 2; Mr Flexman’s Perseverance, owner, 3. Won easily. Maiden Weltbb of 10 sovs. One mile. —Mr M. Eyre’s Velves, J. Banks, 1; Mr M. Laurie’s Cabaret, 2; Mr W. Douglas’ Radium, 3. Won easily. Hunt Club Steeplechase of 25 sovs —Three miles and a-half.—Mr W. Crowther’s Taranaki, owner, 12st 71b, 1; Mr N. Banks’ Vagabond, Selby, list, 2; Mr C. Buckland’s Pilot, Ring, list, 3. Won by several lengths. Bardowib Handicap of 20 sovs. Six furlongs—Mr P. C. Ring’s Seabird, Ring, 1; Mr R. McKiken’s Le Beau, Paul, 2. Eadies’ Bracelet of 10 sovs.—Miss Smith’s Swimmer, Walsh, 1; Miss Graham’s Tui,;R. Dedd, lOst 121 b, 2
Wairiki was shipped to Sydne" by the fine Union liDter Moana on Mordav. Mr Bradley was down to see the last of his favourite, who was comfortably housed between decks. A hunter, which I understand was for Miss Want, went across by the same steamer.
