TROTTING.
Nominations for all events to be decided at the approaching meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club close with Mr C. F. Mark, on Friday, May 27, at 9 p.m. Handicaps for the first day’s sport appear on May 30, and Acceptances for the same are to be made by June L at 9 p.m. The question of the Auckland Trotting Club holding its Winter Meeting at Takapuna has yet to receive the sanction of the A.R.C., but this is certain to be granted, as there can be no valid objection to the course being pursued. In fact, the A.R.C. have set a good example in this respect themselves by allowing the Avondale J.C. the use of their racecourse when the latter body’s track was mot available. A trotting meeting at Takapuna will give a filH to the sport, for many will be attracted to the course who would not visit Alexandra Park owing to the greater conveniences for spectators at the former ground.
Trotting men would do well to bear in mind that any suggestions which they desire to have considered at the Annual Meeting of the N.Z. Trotting Association must be in the hands of the secretary by May 31. . -
