TRAINING NOTES.

ELLERSLIE-

TUESDAY. Owing to the near approach of the Easter races trainers are now sending their charges along. This morning a lot of good fast work was indulged in. The first to commence was Heaton's team, Bother, Avalanche and Mauku being sent along at top on the sand for six furlongs, the latter finishing in front in Imin 20 l-ssec. The Fcrmo colt and Te Aroha fluttered , over four furlongs with little to choose between the pair in 53£sec. Jewellery, looking a bit light after her Coast racing, only did two rounds at half pace. Yolette finished in front of Baltimore, miming the seven furlongs in imin 84 l-ssec. . Putty, Numa and Ropa finished in that order over a short mile in imin sec. Ben Blair skipped over five furlongs, with Vic. Cotton in the saddle, in Imin S 2-ssee. Lady Novel, St. Olga and Bonomiana finished abreast over six furlongs in imin 21 i-ssec. x Bonheur, Scotty (M. Ryan up) and Delania finished in a group over nine furlongs in Imin 59sec on the grass track. Annoyed alone, with weight in thd saddle, took imin 59Jsec to do the same task. Portland Lass proved too good for his two coinranions, Beau Seaton and Gladstone, in a five furlongs flutter in imin s^sec. Muthema made a hack of Mobberley s pony over five furlongs on the sand in Imin 6 sec. . Dunmore and another took it leisurely over the same distance in imin 9 4-ssec. Old Mars sprinted six furlongs alone in imin 2isec. Wairiki trotted once round and then broke away from the seven furlongs post and got over the distance in Imin 33sec, being anxious to extend himself. Geologist finished in front of Waikato in a fast four furlongs, run in Iman 52sec

It took Eureka imin 24 4-ssec to get to the end of six furlongs on the tan alone.

Signal, a Waikato horse, took imin 21sec over the same distance on the sand.

Solo and Cuiragno ran a ding-dong seven furlongs on the same track in imin 84 l-ssec, the former easily holding his stable mate. Hohoro easily accounted for the sister to Marshal Soult in a four furlongs spin in Imin 52 2-ssec.

The following horses did light to medium work on the different tracks :— Haydn, Dingo; Up-to-Date, Tahake, Ake Ake. Native Rose, Lady Hune, Mewtown, Field Rose, Kamo, Bloodstone, Vai Rosa. White Rose, and others. A number of others worked after breakfast.
