AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB’S AUTUMN MEETING. Th» Autumn Meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club was concluded yesterday under exceedingly favourable circumstances, the weather Ibeing beautifully fine, the attendance good, and the sport interesting. Several of the contests were <*very keenly fought out, notably so in the Pony event® which gave rise to two most yr citing finishes, and the handicapper may well be congratulated on his work. The trortfring pony, Bert, was in fine form, and the son of Albert Victor succeeded in placing a double to hist credit. A very excellent performance was accomplished by Durbar in the Autumn Trot Handicap. The Vancleve gelding was on scratch, and was giving some big starts away, despite which he was able to catch the judge’s eye first. The meeting was excellently managed, and a word of praise is certainly due to Mr Mark, the secretary, for his successful efforts to attend to the comfort <>f patrons. Altogether it proved ,as phwutant a meeting as tas taken place at Alexandra Park for a long time past. The following are the results NOVEL TROT, of 25sovs. One mile. Sir Robert (Cotton), 22sec 1 Durbar (Tozer), scratch Occidental (Forbes), 6sec Won by twenty yards. Time, 4min7sec. Dividends, £2 is and £1 9s. MAY HANDICAP, of 40sovs. Six furlongs and a-half. Orange and Blue (O’Connell), 10.2 1 Whawhai (Jellingsi), 8.4 Annoyed (Smith), 9.11 3 A great finish, the top-weight winning by a neck. Time, imin sosec. Dividend £1 12s. PONY TROT, of 25SOVS. Polly 11. won by three yards, after a great race. Time 2min 37sec. Dividend, £3 ids and £2 2s. Waitekauri was bracketted with the winner.
