POLO GYMKHANA.
Th© annual sports held under the auspices of the ' Auckland Polo Club took place at Alexandra Park OI L and proved very enjoyable. The wcat was simply delightful, and the attendance accordingly considerable. The various officials worked hard to carry the function through successfully, and this was ce tainly s the case, although perhaps more attention might be paid in ta j :uie i keeping the various events in dee Mr The officials were as tollow • ' [ e . After the decision of the P°]° C ¥P Race Dr. A. C. Purchas presented the Auckland Provincial Polo Challenge Cup to the Auckland 'senior team, who were successful in thq tournament final on biidaylast. Mr H. C. Tonks (captain ot the team) received the trophy on behalt ot his club. The following were the results : — BENDING RACE. Mr E. D. O’Rorke’s Retan Mr A. S. Baker's Dinah - POLO BALL RACE. Mr W. G. Texas led at the start, but then Gaiety going to the front won in a canter by two lengths. A Waterloo Melee finished off the day’s proceedings, this being w T on by Auckland.
