FIRST DAY.—WEDNESDAY, OOT. 8. lhe Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club were favoured with glorious weather for the lopening day of their Spring Meeting and the/attendance was probably a record for these mee ings. The sum of £6397 was put through the totalisators, being an increase of £797 over the same day last year.
