In the Magistrate’s Court last Thursday, Messrs L; 1). Nathan and Co. brought a -claim against It. J. Searl, hotelkeeper, of Wellington, for 1223 I Os, for bringing 'defendant’s hotel before the notice of travellers and tourists. Defendant, whose evidence had been taken in Wellington, admitted an indebtedness . of £l2 10s, but disputed the balance, which was claimed in respect of services rendered in Sydney by Mr > Watkinson, who was employed by the plaintiff firm, who gave evidence. Judgment was given lor plaintiffs for the amount claimed, with costs £5 ss.
