Sprit, g field, sire of Daisy Chain, the best horse of his day, started 19 times, won 17, twice second. Also sire of Alloway, Watercress, Morganette (the dam of Galtee More, winner of 2000 gs. Derby and Leger), Sainfoin (Derhy winner). His progeny up to 1897 won 326 races, value of £141,952 Cambuscan, sire of Chatelaire, also sire of the peerless Kinsem, winner of 62 races over all distances and never beat ; Onslow Camballo (winner of 2000gns), Idalia (the dam of Sir Modred, Sir Launcelot), Fernia, dam of Fal Lal, also dam of Pretender, winner of 2000 gs and Derby.
