COURSING.

THE AUCKLAND COURSING CLUB’S JULY MEETINGSecond Day, Wednesday, July 18. The attendance at Avondale was very fair on Wednesday, when the July Meeting was brought to a conclusion. The Waitakerei Cup was won by Rory O’Moore, the Napier-owned dog. He gave a fine exhibition ail through the stake, and thoroughly deserved bis victory. Rory O’Moore is quite a young dog. only eighteen months old, and as he runs his courses with great fire and much determination he should have a successful future. Sweet Packet won the Bracelet Stakes after a tremendous go with Firelock. In this course the hare ran right back to the slips, and before she got away she led the dogs a merry dance, the course lasting some four minutes. Another good course was that between Highwater and Miss Flirt. Again the hares ran very strongly, and during the afternoon’s sport only two were killed. Mr F. W. Coombee, the judge, is to be complimented upon bis decisions, which were prompt and clear, while Mr Brennan slipped the dogs in excellent style. The details are as follows : — '■» 1-8 Bracelet Stakes. Winner, £lO 10s, and £5 donated by Mr H. H. Hayr; second dog, £6 ; third dog £3 ; two dogs £1 10s. ••fcSA .yjr/g ■ THIRD BOUND. /_ ' Frisco t’eat S veetbriar" Firelock beat D.agoon Sweet Packet a bye FOUBTH B UNr.
