LYTTELTON JUBILEE REGATTA.

A public meeting was held in the Colonist Hall on Friday, 18th May, to arrange preliminary steps with regard to the proposed Jubilee Regatta. Mr W. Radcliffe (the Mayor) presided. Mr G. A. Lewin, Secretary to the Lyttelton Regatta Committee, stated that there had been £5O a year set aside since 1892 to form the nucleus of a Jubilee Regatta Fund. There was now in the bank to the credit of the fund £4lO 2s Id. Mr J T. Brice mwed, and Mr T. C. Field seconded, and it was carried unanimously, “ That in 1901 a Jubilee Regatta of two days beheld.” Mr G. A. Lewin was elected secretary and Mr C. Ferrier treasurer, with a powerful Committee of about 30 prominent citizens. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
