One mile. —To start at 1 p.m. Hurdle Handicap of 20 sovs; second horse to receive 2J sovs from the stake. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. About one mile and a half, over six flights of hurdles 3ft 6in high. To start at 1.40 p.m. Pony Handicap of 15 sovs; second horse to receive 2| sovs from the stake. For horses 14.3 and under. Nomination, 7s 6d; acceptance, 7s 6d. Six furlongs. —To start at 2.20 p.m. Waihi Cup of 35 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 15s. One mile and a quarter. —To start at 3 p.m. Trot Handicap (saddle or harness) of 10 sovs ; second horse 1 sov from the stake. Nomination, ss; acceptance, ss. One mile and a half. —To start at 3.40 p.m. Flying Handicap of 20 sovs; second horse to receive 2J sovs from the stake. Nomination. 10s acceptance, 10s. Six furlongs.—To start at 4.20 p.m. Local Race of 5 sovs. For horses that are owned by residents within the Waihi and Waitekauri Ridings for three months prior to race. Seven furlongs.—To start at 5.50 p.m. DATES OF NOMINATIONS, WEIGHTS, AND . ACCEPTANCES. NOMINATIONS for all races, except Forced, to close with the Secretary, Waihi, on THURSDAY, February 15th, 1900. WEIGHTS declared on THURSDAY, 22nd February. ACCEPTANCES close on WEDNESDAY, February 28th. ' ' RULES AND REGULATIONS. Telegraph Office closes at 5 p.m. The winner of any handicap race of the value of 40 sovs, after the declaration of weights, to carry 71b extra. Owners, Trainers, and others entering and accepting horses for the Waihi meeting are notified that no Entries or Acceptances will be received unless accompanied by the necessary amount in cash. All persons intending to withdraw hordes are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of Seales one half hour before the official time for starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine -to be imposed by the Stewards —not exceeding 5 sovs. All Protests must be made in writing and handed to the Secretary within fifteen minutes of the result of the races. A deposit of £2 2s must accompany the protest, to be forfeited if the protest be dismissed. The decision of the Stewards shall be final. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross amount of all stakes for racecourse improvements. . Every Entry must state the name, or assumed name, of the owner or owners, and the name, age, pedigree, description, and performances of the horse, together with the colors of the rider.
