HAWKES BAY.
The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club committee meeting — Assumed names —Nomenclature — Trainers and jockeys licenses —Footings. Napieb, October 3. A committee meeting of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club was held at the Criterion Hotel on Friday afternoon, when there were present Messrs W. Shrimpton (in the chair), J. H. Coleman, G. P. Donnelly, T. H. Lowry, F. Logan, and G. L. Sunderland. It was resolved, “ That 300 copies of the new rules of racing be ordered.” The assumed names, “H. V. Weston ” and “ Francis Bedford,” were agreed to. It was decided that Mr H. Hunter should be allowed to alter the name of his horse from Eucharist to Eucharia. The levy of the conference of £7 10s was ordered to be paid. The following programmes were approved : —Gisborne Racing Club, December 26th and 27th; Napier Park Racing Club, March 27th and 28th, and June 27th and 28th. It was recorded that Messrs John McVeagh and Wm. White had been declared elected on the Metropolitan Committee as representatives of the country clubs. The following licenses were granted : —Trainers: A. G. Banks, James Skeats, William Harrison, Charles Suff, Alfred Williams, Geo. Cudd, Arthur Butterworth, 1! enry Moore, H. W. Reeves. Apprentice : Thomas Todd. Jockeys: Alfred Williams, George Cudd, Arthur Butterworth, Hugh
Boyle, A. G. Bain, Christopher Reidy, GeoJones, Ge >rge Banks, Pamahi Wehekore, Hilton Thomas, John R. Jones, John Murphy, Alfred Adams, Robert Marshall, John Plummer, Michael Maher, Mark Sceats, Alfred G. Wood, and William Jones. A temporary jockey’s license was granted to Jerry Chorn. The committee then adjourned. At Mr Gollan’s station, Mangatarata, Miss Dargon (by Marquis out of My Idea) has produced a filly to Captain Webb.
