Training Notes.
AT HASTINGS. [by OUR NAPIEB CORRESPONDENT, j Napier, June 13. Trainers this morning were greeted with a sharp frost, and the tracks were somewhat sloppy. A lot of very useful work was got throughGooseman made a start by sending the Bracelet candidate Pansy over a mile and a-quarter in company with H.M.S Pinafore, both shaped well. Siricco was given slow work. The Dude and The Frenchman went twice round at a good half pace. Bullrush did likewise. Ruby (Watts) and Hilda 11. (Sweeney) were sent twice round over the steeplechase fences. Both fenced well. First Blood did good sound pace work. Tataramoa (Moore) and K Jam (Donovan) jumped the steeplechase course in company. The former jumped well, but K Jam fell at the sod bank. Jerry (Mr Ireland) and Pyramus (Scott) both covered the same ground, jumping well. Castashore went twice round on the grass gallop at three-quarter pace, going very well. Gorse (Mitchell) jumped the big fences alone. W1 itij ea (Mitchell) and Waihu (McMarshall) were associated in a mile and a half over the little sticks. Both negotiated the hurdles in a taking style. Tally-ho (Redmond) and Schnapps (O’Neill) went twice over the big fences, jumping well. Daphne was given slow work. Torpina and Blackberry were subjected to useful work, Collins and Jones are only extending their teams at half pace on the Napier Park track, the heavy going precluding them from putting their horses at top. Vincent takes the road for it, and Banks, with Coolgardie: Woods, with Vaila ; Oollelo, with Waterstone, have a *go on the Town and Suburban track at Taradale.
