PAEROA DRUIDS’ RACE MEETING.

The annual picnic race meeting of the Paeroa Druids was held on the local racecourse on Saturday last. The gathering was favoured with fine weather, and the local people made the occasion a holiday. The consequence was that the attendance was large, and among those were many Auckland and Thames visitors. The following are the results :—

A lot of jostling had been indulged in, and as Knight of Athol, according to the representations made, had been run off the course by the interference of Orena, The event was declared no race by the stewards, who disqualified Reuben Teddy, the rider of Orena, for twelve months.
