Notes for Owners and Trainers

Acceptances are due to-morrow for the following events to be decided at the Auckland Racing Club’s Summer Meeting : — 1 rial Handicap, Handicap Hurdles, Christmas Handicap, Nursery Handicap, and Pony Cup. On the same date the secretary of the Thames Jockey Club announces that acceptances for the following events must be made: —-Maiden Handicap, First Handicap Hurdles, Goldfields Cup, Miners’ Purse, First Handicap Steeplechase, Railway Handicap, Stewards’ Handicap, and Hauraki Handicap. On Friday, December 23, entries must be made for the Takapuna Cup, T.J.C. Handicap, and First Steeplechase. The third payment, 2 sovs, for the Auckland Trotting Club’s Exhibition Cup must be made before 10 p.m, to-morrow. So as to popularise trotting it,is to be hoped that owners will respond liberally. The final payment, 2 sovs, for this event is due at the post on Dec. 24.
