AMERICAN HORSES IN ENGLAND
The experiment of Mr J. B. Haggin, the wellknown breeder in America, of sending a consignment of horses to England for sale, proved a success. The prices realised by the following will interest our readers, as they were all by New Zealand-bred sires:—Filly by Artillery — Beryl (by Sir Modred), 460 g s; filly by Artillery —Brazilla (by Ben Ali), 106 gs ; filly by Artillery — Emotion (by Falsetto), 130ge; filly by Artil lery — Kathleen by Hurrah), 300 g s; filly by Artillery—Moonflower (by Wildidle), 35gs ; filly by Sir Modred—Danilla (by Joe Daniels), 550 gs ; filly by Sir Modred—Fedalma (by Wheately), 170 gs; filly by Sir Modred - Gondole (by Iroquois), 510 gs ; filly by Sir Modred —Mary Adelia (by Salvator), 200 gs ; filly by Sir Modred—Miss Motley (t»y Billet), 600 gs : filly by Sir Modred — Plaything (by Alarm), 810 gs ; filly by Sir Modred —Probability (by Onodonga), 130 gs ; filly by Sir Modred—Santa Rita (by Virgil), 65gs. A filly by the Traducer horse July brought 35gs, and one by Darebin lOOgs.
