Judging from the following the high jumping exhibition at the Agricultural fair could not have been up to the average : — What Auckland can show of a high-jumping horse, At the Spring Agricultural Fair, Is hardly sufficient to quote ; but, of course, Owners claim that their best were not there. Still it looked rather queer when, with blundering rise, Four foot eight was the best they could clear. And a dairyman murmured with saddened surprise, “Oh ! I wish I’d my old milch cow here !! ”
