Definition of a Hack —Back means a horse that has never won a race and is not nominated at time of start for any race, hack, hunter, and pony races excepted. All Nominations, Acceptances, and Entries, accompanied by the nece-sary amounts, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Secretary’s Office, Brougham Street, New I lymouth, not later than 9 p.m. on the advertised dates of closing. Full particulars of colors, age, and pedigree must be forwarded with the nominations. .In all cases where penalties have to be carried for winning. it shall be the duty of the owner, trainer, or jockey to notify the Secretary on or before Friday. 23rd December, 1898. Horses walking over will receive 50 per cent of the stakes. All races to be run under the Rules of Racing, as adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. STAKES PAID IN FULL.
