Our Illustrations.
A photograph of a group of those taking part in the Wanganni Collegiate Schools Fancy Dress Ball is reproduced in this issue. The picture is from a photo, taken by flashlight by Mr Martin, of Wanganui. We give some Avondale pictures by Mr Walrond this week, one of the Grandstand, taken while the race for the Cup was being run, one of Miss Delaval, the winner of the Juvenile Stakes, and one of the start of the Juvenile Stakes. We also give three pictures of groups of pupils' at Wellington Physical Training College. We also present our readers with three pictures taken at the late coursing meeting at Hawke’s Bay. In the two groups there are the faces of several Napier sports well-known and respected m Auckland. The groups show a number of dogs that competed at the late meeting, and among them is a dog which it is alleged was rung in from Auckland. As an investigation is sure to be held, the pictures may possess more than usual interest to sporting men. Another picture is that of Mr J. B. Vallance, the recently-arrived gentleman rider from Eng land, who rode Beaufort at Marton.
Last week we omitted to mention that the picture of Mr H. N. Abbott was reproduced from a photo, taken by Mr F. W. Edwards, of Queen Street, and that of Waiuku from a photograph by Mr A. G. Holland, of Hastings.
