FEMALE RACING.
After a highly interesting contest, which started, on Boxing Day, the twelve day’s race between English and French lady cyclists at the Royal Aquarium terminated on the Bth of January, says the London Sportsman, in a victory for the French rider, Mdlle. Rodger, who thus,
on her first appearance on tne track, has captured chief prize. There ia no doubt that ahe is a cyclist of more than average ability, and she ia to be heartily complimented upon her achievement. During thirty-six hours she covered the splendid distance of 691 miles 6 laps, a very fine performance when it is considered that the track measured ten laps to the mile. Another rider who deserves a word of praise is Miss Farrar, who came in second only eight laps behind. From start to finish she stuck most persistently to Mdlle. Rodger —the two being in the same section —but after keeping together for over a week an accident happened to the English lady’s machine, which calused her to lose ground. The full scores are as follows : —
