The privileges in connection with the Otahuhu Club’s meeting were disposed of by Messrs Churton and Co. at the Brunswick Mart, Queen Street, on Friday, but the prices realised were not as good as the importance of the meeting justified. The publican’s booth was purchased by Mr Donovan for £63, the cards by Mr L. Adams for £46, the gates by Mr Adams for £77, and the refreshment booth for £5 by Mr T. MoEwin.

There were 386 head of trotters and pacers sold at the Fasig sale, New York City, for 155,610d01. or an average of 403 dol. Owners of trotters should not forget the neat programme prepared for the autumn meeting of the Hawera Trotting Club to be held on March 11th. Nominations close with the secretary at tha office of the club, Hawera, on February 19th at 9 p.m.

At [a meeting of the South island Trotting Association an appeal against the decision of the stewards of the Boxburgh Club disqualifying his horse, Ivy 11., was received from Mr 0. Todd. Pending communication from the Boxburgh officials, consideration of the case was postponed.

Mr A. of Dunedin, applied, on behalf of Mr Kirton, for a further hearing of the case of the running of Bex and Leo at the Tahuna Park Summer Meeting. The application was made on the gruund that Mr Kirton had received no notice of the previous hearing. The delegates present refused to re-open the case. The following is a sample of the way in which the National Trotting Association of New York deal with offenders. On Dec. 10th the Board of Beview arrived at the following decisions : — Bobert T. Kneebs and H. O. Heffner of Sioux City, lowa, were expelled. Kneebs for his connection with frauds on German tracks by racing the mare Bethel under another name, and Heffner for his connection with several irregularities on American tracks.

Jacob Isenger, of Warren Pa., was expelled for entering the horse Doc F., out of class. The horse was also barred.

William Brannigan, of Windsor, was expelled for repeated violations of association rules.

William Carmack, of Cleveland, Ohio, and E. Lease, of Tiffi-i, Ohio, have been expelled for starting the mare Maud Pollard under the name of Jane. The mare was also expelled. A. B. D. Hart and A. H. Krefz, of Redding, Pa., were suspended until unlawful awards received by them are returned. Charles A. Wolfe, of Polk, Pa., was expelled for starting the horse Paddy Moran under the name of J. Wolfe. The horse was also expelled.
