On no account will horses be handicapped whose nomination fees are unpaid. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All ponies without certificates to Stewards’ satisfaction must be measured before starting. Name, age, sex, pedigree, description, and previous performances of the horses and ponies to be given at the time of nominations; also name or assumed name of owner, and colors of the riders and drivers. All horses must be ridden or driven out. All protests must be accompanied by a fee of £2, to be forfeited if the protest be deemed frivolous or vexatious. All disputes, objections, and claims arising out of the races shall be decided by a majority of the stewards present, whose decision shall be final and shall not be questioned in any court of law. Entries only received on this condition. Nominators’ attention particularly directed to Rule 43. To be run under the rules of the North and South Island Trotting Association of New Zealand. No rider or driver will be allowed to start if not dressed in proper costume as provided in Rule 121, or not producing licence at scales. Any jockey not weighing out within ten minutes after ringing of bell, or not returning saddle-cloths immediately at conclusion of an event, will be fined 21s. Winner of any race, after declaration of handicaps, may be re-handicapped. All stakes paid in full. Order of running subject to alteration.
