Mr Stead has selected the following names for for the yearlings which he purchased at the Auckland blood stock sales: —Br c, by St. Leger —La Dauphine, “Magnificent;” br f, by St. Leger—Hilda, “ St. Lucia ; ” ch c, by Hotchkiss —Rose of Wellington “Screw Gun;” b c, by St. Leger —Cissy, “ Sai t Ilario.” The name of Whips of Beer has been bestowed on a horse in the Poverty Bay district. This fellow should be a staggerer,and the opportunity of entering him for a publican’s purse or a Brewers’ Handicap should never be missed.
