AUCKLAND RACING- CLUB. SPRING MEETING. PROGRAMME. FIRST DAY, SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 6th, 1897. First Race to Start at 1 o’Clock. President’s Handicap of 100 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs out of the stake. For three-year-olds arid upwards that have never won 50 sovs at time of starting. Entrance 1 sov, and acceptance 1 sov each, to go to the funds. One mile. Auckland Guineas of 300 sovs ; second horse to receive 30 sovs, and third horse 10 sovs from the stake. Colts, Sst 101 b ; fillies and geldings, Bstslb each. By subscription of 7 sovs each, payable at the post, unless forfeits are declared as follows : If struck out by the first Friday in September, 1897, 3 sovs forfeit; if left in after this date, liable for the whole 7 sovs. All forfeits go to make up or increase the stake. Ascot Handicap of-150 sovs ; second horse to receive 15 sovs out of the stake. For three-year-olds and upwards. Entrance 1 sov, and acceptance 2 sovs each, to go to the funds. One mile and a distance. *Hunt Club Cup (Handicap Steeplechase) of 60 sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs out of the stake. Minimum weight, lOst 71b.
