NORTHERN WAIROA RACING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Northern Wairoa Racing Club was held on August 18 at the Kaihu Hotel, Mr N. A. McLeod being in the chair. Messrs. Hillary, Howard, Day, Vail, and Shipherd were announced as the retiring stewards. Messrs. Hillary, Day, Vail, and Shipherd were re-elected, and Mr F. Little was elepted a steward in place of Mr Howard. The balance-sheet wasadopted as read. Immediately after the annual meeting a meeting of stewards was held, when, the following officials were appointed : —President, Dr. Norton ; vice-presidents, Messrs. Rogers and Corcoran ; chairman and treasurer, Mr N. A. McLeod ; secretary, Mr F. L. Beart ; judge, Mr F. F. Day; starter, Mr F. Marriner; clerk of scales, Mr S. Dell; auditor, Mr Jas. Passel!.. The appointment of handicapper and clerk of course was postponed. The stewards determined, to give in prizes, at the Christmas meeting, a total of about £3OO, and Messrs. McLeod, Nairn, and Wilson were appointed to draw up the programme and report at next meeting. A hearty vote of thanks to the secretary for the able manner in which he had performed his duties during, the past twelve months was carried unanimously.
