Flushed by the success of their Sydney blackcoated friends, the Melbourne goodies are starting in to deal with cash betting in the land of cabbages. They have a rough task ahead of them, as the two great Melbourne dailies—the Argus and the Age— are, like sensible newspapers, in favour of cash betting on the racecourse.
