Seven furlongs.—To start at 12.15 p.m. First Handicap Hurdles of 75 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. Nomination, 1 sov: acceptance, 30s. Two miles, over eight flights of hurdles 3ft 6in high.—To start at 1 p.m. First Handicap Hack Hurdles of 40 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. For horses that have never won a race of over 40 sovs, hack and. hunter races excepted. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 1 sov. One mile and three-quarters.—To start at 1.45 p.m. Manawatu Cup Handicap of 300 sovs; second horse to receive 35 sovs, and third horse 15 sovs from the stake. The winner of any flat race of 100 sovs, after the declaration of weights, to carry a penalty of 71b. Nomination. 2 sovs; acceptance, 7 sovs. One mile and a half.—To start at 2.45 p.m, First Hack Flat Handicap of 40 sovs ; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. For horses that have never won a race of over 40 sovs, hack and hunter races excepted. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 1 sov. About one mile and a quarter.—To start at 3.30 p.m. Grand Stand Handicap of 100 sovs ; second horse to receive 20 sovs from the stake. The winner of any flat race of 40 sovs, after the declaration of weights, to carry a penalty of 71b; of 100 sovs, a penalty of 101 b. Nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 2 sovs. One mile.—To start at 4.15 p.m. Ladies’ Purse Handicap of 40 sovs; a purse of the value of 30 sovs for the first horse, and a purse of the value of 10 sovs for the second horse, and a goldmounted whip for the nominator of the third horse, presented by Mrs H. Gillies. For hacks and hunters. Master’s certificate must be produced for hunters to the Clerk of the Scales. The winner of the Summer Handicap to carry a penalty of 101 b. Nomination, 1 sov ; acceptance, 1 sov. Five furlongs.—To start at 2.30 p.m. President’s Handicap of 200 sovs ; second horse to receive 25 sovs, and third horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. The winner of any handicap, after the declaration of weights, to carry a penalty of 51b. Nomination, 1 sov; acceptance, 5 sovs. About one •’ mile and a quarter.—To start at 3.30 p.m. Christmas Hack Handicap of 30 sovs ; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Minimum weight, Bst. Nomination, 10s; acceptance, 10s. One mile. —To start at 4.15 p.m. Farewell Handicap of 50 sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stake. Nomination, 10s ; acceptance, 1 sov. Nominations for this race close 15 minutes after the President’s Handicap is run; acceptances close 10 minutes after weights appear. Once round, nearly a mile.—To start at 4.45 p.m. NOMINATIONS for all races, except Farewell Handicap, close with the Secretary, at Palmerston North, on MONDAY, December 7th, at 10 p.m. WEIGHTS will be declared on or about DECEMBER Bth. ACCEPTANCES for first day close with the Secretary, at Palmerston North, on TUESDAY, December 15th, at 10 p.m. WEIGHTS for second day, except Farewell Handicap, will be posted at the Commercial Hotel, Palmerston North, about 9 p.m. on December 26th. ACCEPTANCES for the second day close with the Secretary, at the Commercial Hotel, Palmerston North, at 10 p.m. on DECEMBER 26th. A HACK is a horse that has never won a race of over 40 sovs, hack and hunters accepted. RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition:—That all Disputes, Claims, and Objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint, their decision on all points connected with the carrying out of this Programme shall be final.
