Our mining prophet

Nothing of any moment has taken place on the local share market during the present week, stocks maintaining previous quotations. The Waihi return was looked forward to as likely to cause a flutter in the surrounding investments, but it had little or no effect locally. It should, however, do us considerable good at Home, for the rise in these shares is bound to bring out an enquiry for the adjoining properties. The returns from all the leading mines this month are likely to be much above the average, and should cause a general improvement. New Alburnia.—Don’t wait too long or you will lose your chance. These shares have seen their lowest. Waipuru.—Wait for further development before investing. Puru Consolidated. —This is given to me as a strong tip. lam afraid to recommend it to my readers, as the stock is well up in price already. If you buy, don’t hold too long. Victoria. —As good as gold and likely to continue so. Alpha.— Don’t be afraid to sell if you have a fair price offered. You will buy much cheaper before long. Asteroid. —Not up to much. Grace Darling.—There must be some hitch in the negotiations at present being carried on for the flotation of this property, else the shares would not be at the present figure. The property is a good one, so holders need have no fear of any temporary difficulty. Ivanhoe. —A small parcel of these shares sold at auction at 9d, which is about the lowest they are likely to see. The position of this mine and also that of the Imperial warrants better prices being paid for the stock. Adelaide. —High enough at present. Cambria. —One of the steadiest stock on the market, and safe enough to buy at anything under 2s 6d. New What and Clunes.—Still hanging fire. Flotation, however, is almost certain, and therefore it is wise to buy at present quotations. Golden Points.—There has been little business in this and other Tapu stocks dnring the past week. The Sheridan return, which will be known in a few days, should, however, cause a revival, and Golden Points and Golden Horns will be the chief stocks affected. Hazelbank. —My remarks last week about this stock have already been justified, and there are now buyers at 6s 2d. Buy at present prices, and don’t worry if there should be a slight decline. The shares are really worth the money. King Solomon. — Not a success as a goldminer. MoAnatairi. —English order caused a slight movement in this stock. Holders should be slow to part. Moanatairi North and Extended.—Heavy business during the week, due to the fact that the properties will shortly be taken over by an English syndicate. Buy whilst you can get them cheap. Komata Triumph.—Steady demand for this stock at Is Id and Is 2d. Good for an early rise. Pandora. —Very low at present. Rising Sun. —This is said to be one of the best properties in Owharoa. The company is at present operating on lodes, which assays prove to be more than payable. Buy a few and put them on the shelf. Talisman. — I cannot account for the great fluctuation in the price of this stock. Admitted on all sides to be one of the best of country investments, it is strange holders have so little confidence. It is quite safe to buy at 15s. Waihi Pinnacles. —Sell out while you are able. A company of this kind, with two or three hundred thousand shares, is not one of the best to invest in. Waihi Silverton. —The heavy drop in this stock has caused much comment. From what I can glean, it is now at its legitimate value. It is safe to buy at about 255. Waitekauri United. — Last sales in this stock took place at Bs, at which figure they are worth looking at. Woodstock. —The developments which have taken place in this mine during the past three months fully warrant the price paid for shares. Will see better prices still. Bunker’s Hill.—After advancing to 6s Id, these shares receded to ss, at which price they can now be obtained. As good news is daily expected from the mine, the shares are worth securing at anything under that figure. Coromandel Freehold Proprietary.—Reports from London state that flotation is assured. Wait for further news before purchasing. Hauraki North. —One of the best investments on the board. New Galconda and Welcome Find. —Cheap enough at present prices. Carnage.—Not worth paying the call on. Maturangi.—Quite high enough. There are buyers at 2s 6d, but no one seems anxious to sell. If you have any let a few go. Empire.—lt will be hard to give them away soon.
