The Wairarapa Cash Cycling Club has affiliated with the N.Z. Cyclists Union. The number of bicyclists in England is., estimated at 1,500,000. Of these fully 100,000 are women.
The use of the cycle as a war instrument is spreading over the world, particularly over the continent of Europe. In one country —Austria-Hungary —the innovation is so favoured that something like a premium has been put on cycling. Those riders who become “ efficient ” are to receive an indemnity of 20 florins, and also additional sums to enable them to keep their machines in good repair.
