Our Illustrations.
We had expected this week to have been in a position to give our readers pictures taken m connection with the V.R.C. Spring Carnival, but inordinate delay somewhere in the Post Office has disappointed us, and the pleasure of presenting Flemington scenes must be postponed until next week, when a specially-prepared picture of Newhaven will be given. However, the pictures of five very fine New Zealand thoroughbreds are given, three of them hailing from the celebrated Wellington Park Stud. These three are Hotchkiss (by Musket —Petroleuse), Cuirassier (by Musket—Frailty), and St. Leger (by Doncaster —Atlantis), Leolantis (the half-brother of St. Leger) is also the subject of a picture; he secured first prize at the Auckland Show among the thoroughbred stallions. The picture of Messrs Alison Brothers Regel yearling colt (another prize taker) is also given.
