The local Tattersall’s billiard tournament ha©' been continued during the week. The concluding Contests in the first round are as follows :—MrH. H. Hayr beat Mr C. Goodwin by 16 points, Mr F. Machattie beat Mr T. Neil by 105 points, and Mr R. Dud er beat Mr W. Davis by 4 points. The following is the result of the first two con-' L : tests in the second round—Mr M. Moore beat Mr C. Philpott by 113 points and Mr F. Machattie ' beat Mr R. Blaikie by 61 points. There are only ( Messrs Duder and Hayr to play in this round. ’ Ttie tournament is expected to conclude on Friday night, and it is generally anticipated that the limit:' man, Mr Moore, will be the winner.

At Manchester, the week ending May 9th,. Eugene Carter, the American, and A. W. Morgan, played a game of 6000 carroms up, the’ former conceding 4000 start. The scratch man eventually won the game, the scores being —Carter--6000, Morgan 5,785.
