CRICKET.
A cable has been received in Christchurch by the secretary of the New Zealand Cricket Council from Mr H. Musgrove, the manager of the Australian Eleven, stating that the Australians will tour New Zealand after completing their fixtures in England. The Australians will only play five matches in this colony. Up to the match with the Players of England, the Australian Eleven had played 18 matches, won 12, lost 3, and drawn 3. Jones, of the Australian Eleven, has been engaged as ground bowler for the Sussex County Club for a term of five years, at a salary of £365 per annum, with house and all expenses paid.
