There is some talk that the Forbury Park Company will run meetings on- the old course. This would at once bring about a con^ ct between them and the metropolitan club. There is a good deal of influence behind each party, so that developments are awaited with interest. J. H. Loughlin has left the Tairei, and has taken an hotel for many years tenanted by Mr Jas. Hutton. Mr Loughlin will still keep on training, as the house is not far from the Forbury course. False Impression is a decent sort of colt that will most likely be brought forward for eaili spring racing. He has occasionally been backed for the New Zealand Cup. I think he is the best colt in training here. He is by Medallion from * Apology. The following are some of the first-laid doubles —Gipsy Grand and Wallace, Casket and Mahee, False Impression and Wallace, Lady Zetland and The Merry Boy, Chaos and Havoc.
