SOUTH AUCKLAND RACING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The annual re-union of the South Auckland Racing Club opens on the Claudeland’s racecourse to-morrow, Friday, and will be concluded on Saturday. The principal race the first day will be the South Auckland Cup of 45 sovs, 1} mile, for which Folly is top weight at 9.0. We are in the dark as to her condition, so many will pass her by. But if she is well I reckon her good enough for this field. Yattenfeldt, at 8.12, does not commend himself to me, but Captivity, at 7.6, has a big chance. I like Folly or Captivity. In the Flying Stakes of 20 sovs, 6 furlongs, Retaliation or Commodore read best. The Pony Handicap should go to Romp or Storyteller. In the Steeplechase, miles, there is nothing to defeat Kildare, who should have won at Avondale last Saturday. The Hurdles should be a hard race to pick. I like Ika Vuka and Little Tom.
