Definition of a Hack. —Hack means a horse that has I never Avon a. race and is not nominated at time of start for j any race, hack, hunter, and pony races excepted. All nominations, acceptances, and entries, accompanied by the necessary amounts, must be addressed to the Secretary, and left at the Secretary’s Office, Brougham Street, New Plymouth, not later than 9 p.m. on the advertised dates of closing. Full particulars of colours, age, and pedigree must be forwarded with the nominations. In all cases where penalties have to be carried for winning, it shall be the duty of the owner. trainer, or jockey to notify lhe Secretary on or before Tuesday, February 18th, 1896. Five per cent will be deducted from all winnings towards the expenses of the course. Horses walking over will receive fifty per cent, of the stakes. All races to be run under the Rules of Racingas adopted by the Metropolitan Clubs of New Zealand. N.B. —The stakes in this programme arc subject to revision by the Committee prior to closing, as to the dates of entry, acceptance, Ac., amount, of added money and conditions.
