AN AUCKLAND ALBUM.

The title “ Advertising Album,” as applied to the publication whose advance sheets we have seen in the office of the Auckland Advertising Agency, will, we are convinced, appear to every ope,, on inspection, a misnomer. The work in progress is in reality a beauitful book of views of most artistic finish and exquisite design, i-om-•prising views of all places of interest in Auckland city and suburbs. Together with these illustrations, however, are to be placed photo-proccss blocks of the exteriors and interiors of the more prominent business premises in Auckland, with a paragraph concerning the same set on the opposite page in a beautiful floral design, but so excellent is the quality of the work that what may be termed advertisements do not obtrude as such, but as most eye-pleasing pictures, which tend to give a general harmony to the whole artistic effect. The work we are given to understand, is to have an original issue of three 'thousand, and better than that, a free issue, so that a muchdesired boon will be conferred on large firms and . their many customers. The second edition will serve as a guide to tourists and will be sold at a low price, merely sufficient to cover the expense of the extra printing. Such a production naturally entails a heavy expense, but, judging from the initial work we sincerely trust, and may go so far as to prophecy, that this enterprising advertising agency will reap the reward due to so extensive, unique, and conscientious a venture.
