THE THREE CUPS.

FIRST ACCEPTANCES. Melbourne Cup, a handicap sweepstake of 25 so vs each, 5 ft, or 2 sovs only if declared to the secretary of the V.R.C. before four p.m. on Monday, sth August, with 3000 sovs added ; . second horse to receive 500, and the third 250 sovs out of the stake. After the declaration of the weights tor this race the winner of any handicap flat race of the value of 50 sovs to cany 31b extra; of 100 sovs, 51b extra ; of 200 sovs, 71b extra; of 500 sovs or upwards, 101 b extra ; provided that the winner of the A.J.C. or V.R.C. Derby of 1895 shall carry in this race not less than weight for age. Two miles. st lb st lb

The Caulfield Cup, a handicap of 2000 sovs, 1500 sovs of the said sum to go to the first horse, 350 sovs to the second, and 150 sovs to the third. The winner of any handicap flat race of the value of 100 sovs after the ds-claration of the weights to carry 31b extra; of 200 sovs, 51b; of 300 soys, 71b; of 500 sovs or upwards, 141 b ; provided that the winner of (the A.J.C.
