BELL BLOCK RACING CLUB.
The A.nnual General Meeting of the Bell Block Racing Club was held on Monday night at the Village Hotel, Bell Block, and was well attended. Mr Pardy was voted to the chair. Repost and Balaisce-sheet.—The Secretary read the Report and Balancesheet. The latter showed the Club to be in possession of £77 17s 6d in the New Plymouth Savings Bank, and £7 10s outstanding on nominations.—This was considered very satisfactory, and on being put to the meeting the report and balancesheet were carried unanimously. Election of Officers.—The election of officers was then proceeded with, with the following result: —President : Mr Newton King, Vice-Presidents : Captain Cornwall, iViessrs D. Teed, sen, H. J. Fisher, and N. McTaggart. iStewards : Dr Valintine, R. Pennington, A. Baker, 8. McGuinness, P. Salway, C. Hunt, H. Julian, E Putt, E. Wood, C. White, C. Tate, J. C. Montefiore, T. Brown. Committee: Messrs E. Putt, D. Teed, jun, R. G. Pardy, E. Wood, E. Salway, A. Colson, Pratt, W. Wood, C, White, S. Rundle, S. McGuinness, and Secretary ex officio. Judge: Captain Cornwall. Starter : Mr Wills. Clerk of Course: Mr Pratt. Clerk of Scales : Mr A. Colson. Handicapper: Mr W. Hately. Timekeeper : Mr E Wood. Hon Secretary and Treasurer: Mr A. A. Ambridge. Messrs T. Brown, C. Tate, D. Teed jun, E. Putt, S. McGui nness, and F. Salway were appointed a Course Committee Race Day.— It was proposed “That Monday, April Ist (Anniversary Dav holiday) should be the day on which the annual race meeting should de held.” After discussion the matter was left to the Committee to decide, though that day is almost.certain to be fixed on. Programme — The following programme was decided on : Hurdles of 25 sovs, Maiden Plate of 20 sovs, Cup of 60 sovs, Farmers’ Plate of 25 sovs, Flying Handicap of 30 . sovs, Lightning Stakes (5 furlongs) of 20 sovs, Welter Handicap of 25 sovs, and a half-mile race of 20 sovs, making a total of £225. New Course —The Secretary stated that good progress was being made with the new grand stand, and the meeting decided to use every effort to hold the next race meeting on the Sentry Hill course.
The meeting terminated in the usual way.
