The Auckland yearling sales are attracting sportsmen from our racing, and several of them have gone up to try and pick up some of the Wellington Park and Whitford Park plums. If we get a Merganser and a St. Hippo amongst thelot we won’t oomplain much. Mr Gollan has gone to Auckland, but whether he intends to pilot . Norton in the Steeplechasse there I do not know.

The handicaps for the Hawkes Bay Jockey Club Meeting have given satisfaction, the generalpublic opinion being that Mr Henry has produced very equitable adjustments. Owing toacceptances not closing before you go to press I am compelled to send you my tips now.
