Cycling.

At the Bicycle Carnival in Sydney on Saturday last the Ten Mile Amateur Championship of New South Wales was won by the New Zealand Champion rider, C. H. Jones, the time being zgmin 56sec. Concerning Jones’ first appearance on a Sydney track on the previous Saturday, “ Cyclofile,” in the Referee, writes at follows:—“Jones, the New Zealand Champion, appeared to anything but advantage on the track last Saturday. He was decidedly short of work, and, with all due respect to the Colonial machine that he rides, was badly mounted. He was anything but comfortable in the handicap events- The extra week’s work will no doubt do him a lot of good, and I hope he will perform up to expectation in the races on Saturday.”
