Flying Stakes (on the flat) of 50 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes. Distance, 6 furlongs. Nomination, 1 sov; Acceptance, 1 sov. To start at 12 noon. 2 Wanganui Handicap Steeplechase of 225 sovs; second horse to recive 25 sovs and third horse 10 sovs from the stakes. Over the Wanganui Steeplechase Course. Distance, about 3 miles. Winner of any Handicap Steeplechase of the value of 100 sovs after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 71b. Nomination, 2 sovs ; Acceptance, 4 sovs. To start at 12.45 p.m. 3. Hunters’ Steeplechase Handicap of 50 sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stakes. Open to all qualified hunters. Distance, about 2 miles. Over such course as the Stewards may direct. Gentlemen riders. Lowest weight not under list. Nomination, 1 sov; Acceptance, 1 sov. To start at 1.45 p.m. Qualification for Hunters. —Open to all horses qualified during the year 1893; or that have been ridden to the hounds twice in the present season (1894) to the satisfaction of the Master of Hounds ; but which have never won an advertised steeplechase or hurdle race (hack and hunter races excepted). Master’s certificate to be pro-' duced to Clerk of the Scales. 4. Trial Steeplechase Handicap of 80 sovs; second horse to receive 10 sovs from the stakes.
