One mile and a distance. Northern Champagne Stakes of 200 sovs, added to a sweepstakes of 10 sovs each ; 5 sovs ft. or no liability if declared by 8 o’clock on the night of general entry. The second horse to receive 30 sovs, and the third horse 10 sovs from the stakes. For two-year-olds. Colts, 8.10; fillies, Bst 81b; geldings allowed 51b. The forfeit (5 sovs) to be declared and paid to the A.R.C. Secretary by 12 noon on the day before the race, or the nominator will be liable for the whole stake. The winner of the Auckland or Canterbury Welcome Stakes, or the Great Northern Foal Stakes, or any race not a handicap, of the advertised value of 200 sovs., to carry 71b extra. Closed. Six furlongs. Easter Handicap of 300 sovs ; second horse to receive 30 sovs and third horse 10 sovs out ' of the stakes. For three-year-olds and upwards.
