WELLINGTON.

[by

WIRE.]

November 14th. The acceptances for the Wellington races are in most cases satisfactory. M r W. Douglas’ Rosefeldt and Waterbury are among them and are on board the Flora leaving Lyttelton to-night. J. Munn came on ahead to-day. W. G. Matthew’s Busybody is also on the Flora. Swivel broke down in Christchurch and was offered at auction, fetching £q Mr Freeth’s Rebellion returned from Christchurch on Monday. The weather here is very fine and the city is full of visitors to the Agricultural Show and the races. The Wairarapa train to-night was over an hour late and the mail was not sorted. It is therefore feared by racing authorities that many acceptances which would otherwise have been in time for nine o’clock, the closing time, are included in the mail and will have to be rejected. The following are my selections for Friday’s races :—Grandstand Handicp, 1 mile:—Dreamland 1, Prince Cole 2. Hurdle Handicap, if miles :— Waterbury 1, Unity 2, Eclipse 3. Hutt Park Spring Handicap, ij mileßangipuhi 1, Rosefeldt 2, Krina 3. Flying Handicap.—Rebellion 1. Sea Serpent 2, Busybody 3. Shorts Handicap :—Sword Belt 1, Porepo 2, Banner 3. Maiden: — Banner 1, Senator 2. Hack Hurdles: — Vasco 1, Oddfellow 2, Stratford 3. Hack Handicap:— Pumau 1, Sedition 2, Oddfellow 3.
