Pakuranga Hunt Club.

The meet of this popular club on Saturday last was held at Mangare, where through the kindness of Mr John Rae, the well-known trainer, who had laid down a splendid drag, a most enjoyable day’s hunting was experienced. A start was made about 2.30 p.m. from a point on the Papatoitoi and Mangare Road, across the farms of Messrs Paterson and Rae and on to the Otahuhu racecourse, extending around the course. The jumps consisted principally of posts and rails and gorse banks, and the run finished on the Mangare Road at the residence of Mr Rae, who extended an invitation to the members of the club to luncheon —an invitation which was largely taken advantage of. Amongst those who followed the hounds were Messrs Roberts, Taylor, Percival, McLaughlin, Mrs Bloomfield, Col. Dawson, and Messrs Gorrie, Wallace, McLaughlin, Lockhart and Hannah.
