D.J.C. SPRING MEETING.
The reply made by owners to the invitation of the Dunedin Jockey Club in connection with their Spring Meeting may be considered a fairly satisfactory one. The nominations are on the whole good. For the Spring Hurdles of Bosovs, two miles and a distance, eleven horses have been entered ; the Maiden Two-year-old Handicap of Bosovs, four furlongs, has attracted sixteen entries ; the St. Clair Welter of ioosovs, one mile, has thirtyone names against it, including Tempest, Melinite, Spector, Johnny Faa, Wanganui, and New Headford; the Tally-ho Hurdles of 70S0VS, one mile and a-half, has sixteen entries; the Onslow Plate of isosovs, w.f.a., one mile and a quarter, has a select field of eleven, including Skirmisher, Stepniak, Prime Warden, Outpost, St. Anthony, Ich Dien, and Hippomenes ; the Pacific Hurdles of 7osovs. two miles, has a dozen nominations ; and the principal event, the Glasgow Plate of zoosovs, five furlongs, has attracted twenty-eight horses.
