Empire has been leased to the Dunedin trainer, H. Goodman. Mr W. Douglas was the principal prize winner at the C.J.C. Grand National Meeting, his cheque amounting to £422 15s, of which £3BO represented Waterbury’s G.N. Steeplechase win. Mr. M. Walker came next with £3OB 15s for Liberator’s two victories, and the other’ monies paid to winning owners were Mr. D. Rutherford £232 15s ; Mr. P. McGrath £199 10s ; Mr. J. Tennant £lO9 5s ; Mr. J. Sutton £6l 15s; Mrs. G. E. Rhodes (bracelet) £57 ; Mr. G. D. Crowe £3B ; Mr. J. E. Nugent £3B ; Mr. C. Wyim-Williams £3B: Mr. T. Twomey £23 15s; Miss Coleman (bracelet) £23 15s ; Mr. M. Goodger £l9 ; Mr. B. R. McDonald £l9 ; Mr. W. O. Rutherford £l4 ss; Mr. J. Driscoll £9 10s; Mr. R. Ray, jnr. £9 10s ; Mr. T. Sheenan £9 10s; Mr. J. C. N. Grigg £9 10s ; Mr. W. Gilchrist £9 10s. The total paid away was £1827.
